Promises and Risks of Digital Development at DIZH

AI is moving into the physical world, and last week we got to experience exactly what that looks like in action.

We joined the DIZH Midterm Conference and Innovation Fair with our LINA live showcase, diving deep into autonomous systems, physical AI, and real-world testing. Our main takeaway? Building a solid research infrastructure is becoming the ultimate stepping stone for the next generation of AI.

The big highlights at our booth:

Tech in action: We brought along our ongoing research on multi-modal object detection—combining camera, LiDAR, and event-camera data for future airspace observation. It sparked some incredible technical debates.

The bigger picture: The most insightful discussions weren't actually about building "better AI models." Instead, they were about how we can safely test, validate, and operate these systems under real-world conditions as part of our everyday society.

Away from the tech talk, we got the full event experience too. We loved the live musical performance, got thoroughly challenged by the interactive community quiz, and just enjoyed the fantastic energy in the room.

Zurich continues to prove it’s one of the most vibrant ecosystems for digital topics. It was great to connect with local researchers, DIZH reviewers, and industry pioneers, catching up with familiar faces and meeting new ones.

A huge thanks to DIZH for the support and for putting together such a great platform to showcase our work!
